Global Media Relations Programme
Cerenis Therapeutics is a multinational biotechnology company dedicated to the discovery, development and commercialization of novel HDL therapies for the treatment of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.
Therapies focused on increasing HDL (good cholesterol) represent the next frontier in the treatment of cardiovascular disease. Clinical evidence has demonstrated that HDL therapy can rapidly regress atherosclerotic plaque and elevating HDL can reduce cardiovascular morbidity and mortality.
Cerenis is developing what has the potential to be the first-to-market and best-in-class recombinant HDL (CER-001).The product is designed to rapidly regress atherosclerotic plaque among patients at high risk of cardiovascular events. It is based on Cerenis’s multiple breakthroughs in the science of HDL, which have allowed the identification and development of highly potent and pure HDL particles.
Objectives
- Elevate awareness of Cerenis as a global leader in HDL therapies to treat cardiovascular disease within the life science community
- Draw in further investment for the second close of its fund-raising
- Highlight the commercial potential of the Company’s approach to cardiovascular disease
- Develop strong relationships with key target media – French national, Ann Arbor local, and life science business and financial.
Our Approach
- The first step was to develop a highly detailed messaging document (see above)
- This messaging was then adapted to the website, with new corporate imagery (see above)
- The Company had two substantial announcements to put out – firstly a €10.7 million grant, and then a €40 million series C first close
- To maximise the coverage teams in the UK, France, and in the US were brought into the programme
- Coordination between all investing parties and corresponding communications teams was essential
- A media roadshow with key target media elevated the interest and understanding of the Company and its activities, plus alerted these media to imminent (but undisclosed) news
- Both releases were put out on the same day to raise the content matter of the story, and ensure total media interest
- Advances on the news were provided to key target media in France, US, and globally, with follow-up to all other target media on the day of release
- To assist with the French media outreach, a French corporate factsheet was developed
- The updated website (in English), went live the day before the announcements.
Results
Full and extensive coverage globally in the tier one target media on the day of the announcement, with further coverage coming through the remaining target media during the following weeks. This resulted in wide recognition of Cerenis in the life science community, its business aims for its HDL therapies, and that the opportunity to participate in the second close was still open.

Client Endorsement
“This was a well-coordinated and executed media programme, with multiple parties involved. The College Hill team was able to work closely with us, and out of hours, through this critical time in the development of Cerenis – and I enjoyed the interactions throughout this time.” Jean Louis Dasseux, CEO, Cerenis.
