Media Relations
Index Ventures is a leading global venture capital firm dedicated to helping top entrepreneurial teams in the Life Sciences as well as other technology areas. Index Ventures invests in drug development and platforms, small molecules and protein drugs. It has also expanded its investments into the medical device space, it has invested in metabolic disorders, CNS, inflammation, anti-infectives, antibodies and cardiovascular disease. The Company has pioneered the asset-centric investment model, investing in single assets that have the potential to be first-in-class or best-in-class.
Objectives
- To raise the profile of Index Ventures with top tier life sciences trade media contacts.
- To introduce the Life Sciences’ Senior Management Team to the media.
- To generate media coverage and ideas for future stories.
Our Approach
- College Hill Life Sciences organised a media roundtable to maintain and further strengthen media relationships between Index’s Life Sciences Senior Management Team and top tier media contacts.
- Identified the ten top tier media contacts (life sciences trade and newswires) in Europe to personally invite to the roundtable.
- Pulled together themes for discussion and questions from the media including the areas of asset centric investing and med tech investing.
- Continued proactive media liaison to ensure a high level of media attendance at the roundtable.
- Provided support for Index in preparation of the event, on the day and post event media follow-up to ensure smooth running of the event and maximise on coverage opportunities.
- Drafted of background materials for the journalists and chairing the roundtable.
- Wrote up the roundtable minutes and secured article opportunities, podcasts and follow-up interviews with media contacts.
Results
- The media roundtable was successful in raising the profile of Index’s Life Sciences Senior Management Team.
- There was a high level of top tier media attendance, with seven out of the ten media contacts targeted attending the roundtable from publications including; Bloomberg News, BioCentury, EP Vantage, Scrip, Clinica, MedNous and Pink Sheet.
- Several media follow-up interviews were held with coverage received, with future story ideas also sparked, including a ‘five minutes with’ Clinica article and a possible article about pipeline assets.
- Follow-up media meetings with contacts unable to attend the roundtable were secured with Dow Jones.
- A follow-up podcast was secured with Nature Biotech.
