Director
Northbank
Communications, the full service PR and marketing consultancy focused
on science-based companies, has announced the appointment of Adam
Michael as Account Director. Previously director of his own biotech-focused
consultancy, Placenta Publicity, Adam brings with him several clients,
most notably two leading biopartnering conferences in Europe, BioSquare
and BIO-Europe, organised by the EBD Group, and headed up by the
Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), the US trade association.
Welcoming Adam
to the team, Sue Charles, CEO of Northbank said, “With five
years PR experienced gained at Placenta and De Facto, and five years
experience in journalism at leading biotech publications BioCentury
and Nature Biotechnology, Adam brings strong media relations and
copywriting skills to the team.”
In 2002 Adam
established Placenta Publicity Ltd, a boutique media relations firm,
specialising in biotech and healthcare. Prior to this he established
and ran the media relations division of De Facto, conducting trade
and financial PR for a host of biotechnology businesses across Europe
and the US. Prior to his move into PR he spent two years at BioCentury
as European News Editor and earned his spurs as a journalist during
two years at Nature Biotechnology as Assistant Editor. Adam has
an honours degree in Applied Biology from The University of Hull.
Commenting on
his appointment, Adam said: “Northbank has clearly established
itself as the leader in science and life science communications,
and I very much welcome the opportunity to expand my experience
and client base, working with the expert team at Northbank.”
At Northbank,
Adam works with clients to focus the media relations component of
their communications strategies, especially in the context of investors
and biopartnering, and has responsibility for further developing
his portfolio of clients in the biotech and life science sector.
To date he has attracted Diamond Light Source, Macrozyme, and Immogenics
as clients.
