Northbank
named as finalist in PR Week Awards “Specialist Consultancy
of the Year”
Northbank Communications,
specialists in science-based communications, has been named as a
finalist in the category "Specialist Communications Consultancy
of the Year" for the PR Week Awards 2005. Northbank will be
competing against five other finalists for the prestigious award,
including Chandler Chico, Corporate Culture, Red Door Communications,
Resolut Communications and Virgo Healthcare PR.
Sue Charles,
CEO, commented: "To be a finalist in these prestigious awards
is a testament to the progress we have made and the success we have
achieved since Northbank was launched in 2002. It is a reflection
of the quality of our staff and clients we have been able to attract
from across Europe and the USA, for which we provide counsel on
a global basis. For our staff, being THE place to work for anyone
specialising in life science PR is key and has enabled us to grow
our team with some very impressive hires. For our clients, building
true partnerships has been vital – this is embodied in our
responsiveness and quality of service."
Continuing,
“Competition to win the award will be tough, but we feel we
have a strong story. As a specialist consultancy, we have built
an impressive offering for science-based companies with public relations
services as a key activity."
In 2002 Northbank
Communications set out to be THE specialist PR and Communications
consultancy of choice for life science companies in the UK and Europe.
In 2004, it entered the PR Week Top 150 league table for the first
time in 130th place (based on 2003 figures) as the fastest growing
PR Consultancy in the UK, recording 288% PR Fee Income Growth. Northbank
continued to move up the table in 2005 with 38% growth in PR income.
Northbank has
focused PR practices in corporate communications, financial communications
and marketing communications, supported by an in-house design team.
These days, creative PR campaigns often need information-based web
sites and technical factsheets to back up the interest that media
comment has created. There is less of a divide between PR and other
communications disciplines than there was. Northbank’s ability
to integrate campaigns and come up with the right solution for its
clients sets it apart from PR purists.
Retained PR
clients include Ablynx, Biacore International, BioInvent International,
Borean Pharma, CeNeS Pharmaceuticals, Cobra Biomanufacturing, IntegraGen,
MNLpharma, Oxford BioMedica, Oxford Immunotec, Peakdale Molecular,
Physiomics, Plant Impact, Plethora Solutions, PowderMed, Santaris
Pharma, Scil Technology, SETsquared Partnership, Sigma-Aldrich,
Solexa, SR Pharma, Symphogen, West Pharmaceutical Services and York
Pharma.
The winner of
the PR Week Awards will be announced on the 18th October 2005.
