Sense
Proteomic and Procognia unite
Northbank
gains one new client and welcomes back an old one
In January Northbank
Communications was pleased to pick up the opportunity to provide
PR support to Maidenhead, UK based Procognia Ltd. Initially PR work
started with implementing the announcement of Procognia's
acquisition of Sense Proteomic www.procognia.com.
Coverage was achieved in many on and off-line journals and websites
including BioSpace, BioFind, Tornado Insider, Invest in Biotech,
BioCentury, Scrip, In Vivo Europe Rx and BioPortfolio.
Procognia
is creating an integrated suite of technologies that will broadly
enable all aspects of development of therapeutics,
diagnostics and personalized medicine. Procognia ‘s integrated
technologies will serve to increase the probability of success
of many pharmaceutical products. The company's original
technology is the rapid glycoanalysis of biopharmaceutical therapeutics.
The
glycolysation of biopharmaceutical products is one of the most
difficult manufacturing processes to control and the analysis
of the glycolysation pattern is a time consuming and labour intensive
job. Procognia technology has automated this process and reduced
it to take a few hours.
The
Sense Proteomic acquisition complements and expands Procognia's
technology suite by adding functional protein array capability.
This array technology integrates the processes of cloning, expression
and purification of functional proteins. The resulting arrays can
be probed in multiple formats for binding, biological and biochemical
activity in response to small molecules, other proteins, RNA or
DNA. Until their acquisition by Procognia, Sense Proteomic was
a client of Northbank's Manchester office. In that two year
long relationship, Northbank assisted in developing Sense's
corporate identity and accompanying corporate communications
materials as well as a website and provided PR support.
