Corin & Acambis Mediscience Winners

London, 26th June 2008   Congratulations to two of College Hill’s clients for winning top honours at the prestigious London Stock Exchange Mediscience dinner awards. Corin won two awards on the night taking home the Best Performing techMARK Mediscience Share award, and the award for Chief Executive of the Year, whilst Acambis won the Breakthrough of the Year award.

The awards recognise excellence within the quoted life-sciences sector and provide an opportunity for the mediscience industry and City to come together in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Since its inception in 2001, the dinner has become one of the events of the year for quoted mediscience companies.

In choosing the winner for Chief Executive of the Year, judges looked for a leader who has exhibited exceptional qualities by creating shareholder value through drive, vision and flair. In addition, the winner needed to recognise the value of developing a strong management team and workforce in supporting organisational success. With Corin receiving the award, it was deserved recognition of former CEO Ian Paling’s outstanding contributions to the Company.

Acambis won Breakthrough of the Year for its West Nile vaccine partnership deal with sanofi pasteur, giving them increased access to the US market plus royalties on sale of the vaccine. Acambis’ vaccine, ChimeriVax-West Nile is the most advanced vaccine in development against the West Nile virus which is now endemic in the US.
